Cold comfort

Even before the first frost fell on the moor, Help the Aged has been warning about the threat of the cold. The organisation’s Winter Deaths campaign says each year more than 25,000 older people lose their lives to a preventable cold-related illness.
Now nPower has announced its increases to energy costs, and the threat then has probably increased. On its site Help the Aged has tips for keeping warm and claiming any benefits that are out there for those who feel the cold. Pass the details on to your friends, family and neighbours who may be worrying and suffering.

Those rapscallions who collectivey (and sometimes individually) go by the name of Arthur Walker got in touch yesterday to say the Arthur Walker track ‘I Am A Skull And I Am Evil’ is on the playlist for tonight’s Introducing show on BBC Radio 6.
Arthur Walker explained to the PRSD: ‘The show is geared towards playing “the best new music in cyberspace” (that’s a quote, not a big headed claim!) and it goes out between midnight and 2am on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
‘So please listen! if you’re not out hammered drunk that is, and show your support for Arthur.
‘The show will also be available for one week on BBC’s online “listen again” service.’
So listen up and listen again, and just to remind you, they are also featured in one of our downloads on the downloads page (check out number 24 of the Melting Pot).
