Snowballs
Ah Christmas. . . parties, get-togethers and popping in to people’s houses to drop the presents off and catch up - all accompanied, if you’re as sophisticated as us here in the People’s Republic, with snowballs galore (sans glace cherries - come on, give us some credit).
Problem is, of course, with no public transport to speak of, there are some foolish souls who drink and drive. The latest figures from a Tickbox.net survey carried out for CarRentals.co.uk road safety scheme revealed that 44 per cent know someone who drinks and drives regularly. No surprise then that road deaths are on the increase.
But what do you expect from a zeitgeist that refuses any form of responsibility? Ah, but it’s Christmas, let’s just bask in the glow of propping up our empty lives with a consumer explosion, excessive drinking (and driving) and stop complaining. If we start taking account of our actions, it might just snowball (without the glace cherries of course), and then where would we be?
