Trail blazers

Every day here in the People’s Republic of South Devon we face the same problem. Do we a) do some environmental campaigning, b) visit an art gallery or c) go to the beach (it is summer after all). But now we can do it all and have an adventure into the bargain. Ain’t life grand.

All this is thanks to the Sculpture Trail which wends its way through Teingmouth Promenade, Dawlish Lawn and Dawlish Warren. Shiny fish, a tin can man and a wicker light house are just three of the objects merged in with the surroundings. And a whopping 35 artists have contributed to this event.

And if it all proves a little too much try a bit of contemplation at the old Swanson’s garage, Teignmouth, with Buff Lancaster-Thomas’ Kyoto inspired piece of work.

Let us know if you find it. Enlightenment and the sculture.
