Hey Molly set for Muse show

Oh well. It was a good scoop while it lasted (all of about three hours, we reckon). Yes, we were right - Hey Molly will definitely be the unsigned combo supporting Muse next week at the Eden Sessions shindig.

Formed in late 2004, Hey Molly (Jordan West, Ollie Irwin, Matt Key and Rob Perry) hail from the likes of Kingskerswell, Newton Abbot, Paignton and Teignmouth and are already movers and shakers on the local popscene.

Theirs is a catchy, rock’n'roll blather with just a dash of blues, punk and (run for the hills!) ska. They’ve toured extensively and, according to their bio, they like to wear ‘cool clothes, sunglasses and rad hats’.

All of which sounds a bit Rootjoose, but who knows? After all, the Muse guys aren’t exactly renowned for their cloth ears, are they?

Either way, the PRSD will be at the Eden show next week to see if Hey Molly have the skills to pay the bills. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, you can check out Hey Molly’s home page or to hear what all the fuss is about.

Yes, I’m Ghana

Traditional Ghanaian theatre will be strutting its stuff at the Drum Theatre in Plymouth for three nights, starting from tonight. The Marriage of Anansewa is an all-singing, all-dancing social satire. This production follows the company’s success last year with A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream - and we all know how many actors got their big break by showing off their Bottom.

Tickets are £7 (£4 concessions) from the Theatre Royal Box Office on or available online at www.theatreroyal.com
