Nice quirk if you can get it (update)
Hullo viewer. Just a little note to say we’ve had an email from Steve Stones of quirk-rockers Arthur Walker.
It reads thusly: ‘Having been together since September, Arthur Walker have never played acoustically, but we’re looking forward to rising to the occasion for a rare performance on BBC Radio Devon this Wednesday morning [that’s today, folks].
‘We’ll perform the first song we ever wrote, Face Ache, and talk about our EP Hello Medicine, which can be heard on our .
‘Not sure if you can mention that we’re playing at the Maker Festival July 28, and are recording our second EP in May.
‘Perhaps cram in the interesting fact that my guitar was used by Enter Shikari during the studio sessions for their debut album? It’s so true. Sad but true.’
Okay then, Steve. Steve Stones’ guitar was used by Enter Shikari during the studio sessions for their debut album. There.
Unfortunately, Steve was so excited about his Shikari star-fuggery, he forgot to tell us what time the band is gonna be on - so you’re gonna have to listen to Radio Devon all morning then, aincha?!
Oh well, worse things happen at sea, as yer mudder used to say.
UPDATE: Okay, so Arthur Walker were on the Gordon Sparks ’show’ at the ungodly hour of 8.30am - and we didn’t post this story until 9am. So it was, in all respects, a bum steer.
However, you can listen to Ver Walker (as no-one calls them) on Radio Devon by clicking here and hammering the ‘listen again’ button. We can’t work out how to fast forward but if you do, you want to head to the 8.30ish mark. Apparently.
