Europe who?
Ignore David Cameron being at Occombe Farm today, the real second most powerful politician in the country Graham Watson MEP is at Exeter County Hall for the funtime event that is Our Environment: Europe’s Role.
This debate, which includes a star-studded panel, is set to explore, err, Europe’s role in the environment, and seeing as this national-boundary-crossing issue may be seen by some as the battering ram to federalism, there should be some hot, hot topics on the agenda.
Shuffle along to the council chamber for 6pm to 8pm today and let the environmental debate begin.

Hey people, there’s a local election coming up. And as we’re trying to inspire participation our thoughts go out to the bigots and racists who feel themselves under represented, they now can join in the democratic process.
The BNP are fielding 41 candidates in the South West. So are UKIP, but go figa, not many where the BNP are peddling their ridiculous bile. Their manifesto includes: “We have lost control and too many newcomers are settling here - our housing, NHS, schools and services can’t cope.”
South West Searchlight and Unite Against Fascism are trying to co-ordinate the distribution of leaflets to respond to the lies of the far-right and to challenge the myths they spread.
